First of all...CONGRATS TO THE SINGAPORE LIONS...CHAMPS OF ASEAN FOOTBALL!
hehe..after all the crap that i've been thru yesterday, these boys really made me happy... I feel so proud everytime i see their pics on the newspaper or on tv..well done!!
Anyways..went for a job interview just now..
It was pretty eventful actually....
Okay, honestly...the furthest i've travelled via MRT,
alone, is probably Raffles Place or maybe Orchard...beyond those stations, there will always somebody accompanying me, be it my mum or my cousins or my friends...
but today i have to travel all the way to Ang Mo Kio
alone since no one else is free to follow me...
Singapore may be small, but ask me qns like street directions or location of a place, there be only about 10% chance of me answering those qns correctly, even if you ask me about Tampines, where i currently resides, there'll be no guarantee of me answering you...
So as expected, i got lost
...i was supposed to take bus no 76 and drop six bus stop later, which i correctly did so..
so when i got off the bus stop which i was supposed to alight, i find myself in nowhere...
you see, the add my agent gave me was Serangoon North ave 5...
but all i could see was the sign "AMK ave 12"
so i walked up and down the same stretch of road about 3 times in search of the Singtel building but i still could not see it...
so i panicked and called my agent
agent: "hello, recruit express, i'm jonathan"
me: jonathan, this is Sherinah, and I'M LOST!"
jonathan: "erm, where are you now?"
me: "dunno, somewhere at the 6th bus stop"
jonathan: "are you in serangoon north?"
me: "no i'm in AMK ave 12"
jonathan: "The singtel building is near another building" (he mention some building whose name i cant recalled) "Can you see the building?"
me: "no"
jonathan: "The singtel building is beige with green windows . Try look for it and you try ask around, if you really cant find it then call me again"
So i went to a nearby Caltex station again (i walked past it twice) and spotted a taxi driver cleaning his taxi and i thought he's the perfect person to ask for directions..i mean he is a taxi driver after all.. so he told me to walk straight about 200m..."just walk straight"
only then i realised my mistake... i did walked straight the first time but only about 100m, then i turn left..which led to AMK ave 12.. but if i walk straight ahead for 200m..it'll led to me serangoon north ave 5....singapore roads..mad i tell you...
then there's the building itself..i got lost in it too...
the interview place..."05-02"...i cant find it...so i walked around and around..i even managed to walk into the
storeroom but no sign of 05-02...
i did eventually found it ...the room was the first one i went into when i reach the place but it had doors that'll only open when a worker's pass is flashed at the scanner...so i thought it was for the staff only...but what i did not see was a black button (when you press it, you'll hear a voice...what do you call that device??)...haha...so thinking that it was a staff room i walked out... so you see, i wasted a lot of time there... should have open my eyes wider...
The interview...hmmm...it was pretty wierd..the interviewer interviewed 3 person at the same time! So at times I dun really know who she was directing her qns to... but she was super nice lah...i hope i'll get the job...it seems interesting...
But my, what a day this has been!
