Went for my first practical driving lesson yesterday... so how did i do on my first day?? well i didnt expect that the instructor, who was pretty nice by the way, would let me drive but boy was i WRONG! haha...so anyways, here's a summary of it...
1. the introduction of the car parts and the various functions of the car buttons and what not was fine...
2.the starting and switching off the engine was fine too
3. i had a bit of a problem with the car's biting point coz my flip flop got stuck under the clutch pedal a couple of times. (note to self: next time pls wear flat, covered shoes with thin soles!!!)
4.the accelerator pedal was damn sensitive lah! at times i didn't even realised i was accelerating too much until the instructor told me so...
5. i had problems coordinating the brake, clutch and accelerator leading to the engine stalling like about 3 or 4 times...
6. i'm okay at driving on a straight road
7. i SUX when driving at road bends!!!! I have no clear idea when exactly is the right moment to turn, how many times to turn the steering wheel.
8. stopping the car was horrible at first but i got the hand of it after some time
9. i had trouble focusing...my eyes keep looking at my feet or at the car meters or outside the window instead of focusing on what's in front of me... the intructor said " eh you are not driving an airplane u noe...look in front"...whoops...
I was so nervous and stressed out that i almost hit a car and almost went over a curb...and no i'm not exaggerating or faking it...luckily the instructor was there......so everytime i was about to hit something he would steer the car away from the obstruction..oh and it started raining pretty heavily and i keep telling my instructor "eh i can't see. I can't see."....looking back i felt so embarrassed by my own reactions...haha...but could not help it lah... Fai kept laughing when i told her the "I can't see. I can't see ." part...she was taking her first pract too...but she took auto course and i took the manual car.....the way she described her experience it seems like auto car was much more easier...hehe...my next lesson will be tmr...we'll see how it'll turn out...haha
