Football, football and more football...It's england vs portugal tonight! hopefully portugal can beat england again just like they did in Euro 2004 even if it has to go down to a penalty shootout...although i much prefer it if a win is obtained from the normal time...penalty shootouts does provide that certain kind of excitement that many would enjoy but it isnt exactly a nice way of bowing out of a tournament especially if you are a player from the losing team..portugal will be without my fav player Deco and costinha. Both got send off in the portugal-holland match last week..i only watched the replay of that match since i was working...so i got really excited when i heard from the radio that portugal had won but the dj didnt mentioned about any sending off so i was kind of disappointed when i
found out about the sending offs....the newspaper did mentioned about portugal appealing against one of the two yellow cards against deco but was unsuccessful i guess... what i like about that portugal-holland match was when the camera showed barcelona team mates deco and holland's van bronkhorst (who also got send off) sitting and chatting together while watching their team mates played the remaining of the game ("bad boys' corner" the commentator calls it)...it was a nice scene and kinda funny too..well as they say, what happened on the pitch stays on the pitch... oh ya portugal might be without cristiano ronaldo too...he's doubtful...
Germany and italy made it to the semi-finals last night by beating argentina and ukraine respectively... told my uncle a few days ago it's gonna be a Germany-Brazil final...hehe... it would be nice if my prediction comes true but of course between a Germany-Brazil final and a portugal-germany/italy final, i would choose the latter anytime...
newcastle news...oh newcastle players have begun training for the intertoto cup...our first competitive match is on july 15 against a norway or an icelandic team...and scott parker is okay now after months of suffering from a glandular fever...also back in newcastle are nicky butt and james milner who spent 05/06 season on loan to birmingham and aston villa...hehe...but we lost the service of striker michael chopra as he seeks his fortune somewhere else...hmmm we are in need of stikers now...shearer has retired, owen injured...only left with luque and ameobi....i tell you i'm not too fond of ameobi...i'm not sure why but he gets on my nerve a lot...speaking of newc, only one player representing newcastle in the World cup now... France's Jean Alain Boumsong...he has yet to play a match though...
